This is a *very* heavy read and not one everyone should read but goodness can Watkins tell a story! If I had to recommend a book to someone who could tolerate a heavier read about the realities of the way intergenerational trauma gets passed down the generations when it goes unhealed, unrecognized, and unaddressed then I’d recommend this family saga.

I read Perish approximately 6 months ago and it’s haunted me ever since. I am so excited about the release of Holler, Child: Stories this summer! QOTD: Did you know that Latoya Watkins will be releasing her first collection of short stories in August?
